Ken and Christina’s story began in April 2025, in a place that could not have been more fitting, their church.
Christina’s son, David, had volunteered with the Mow Teams, a ministry dedicated to caring for the church grounds. When his work schedule changed and he began working graveyard shifts, Christina stepped in to help. What she couldn’t have known was that a simple decision to serve would place her alongside someone who would eventually become such an important part of her life.
Ken was already faithfully leading the Mow Teams, spending his Saturdays doing something that came naturally to him, working outdoors, caring for the grounds, and putting his years of landscaping experience to good use.
In November, Christina finally decided to take a chance and invite Ken to dinner. Ken, meanwhile, was still keeping his very “Ken” landscaping schedule, so it took a little patience to actually make that dinner happen. On, December 12, 2025 they finally had their first dinner together. The night went on for hours, and they enjoyed each others company and conversation deeply.
Over the winter, their relationship deepened. Ken found someone with whom he could share not only laughter and adventure, but faith, family, companionship, and the everyday parts of life. Christina found in Ken a peaceful and steady love, someone she could laugh with, pray with, talk with for hours, and simply enjoy being beside.
Together they began creating a life filled with new memories. They traveled to Denver and Arizona, met more of each other’s families, shared holidays and ordinary days, and gradually became woven into one another’s worlds.
What surprised them both was how natural it all felt. They were simply two people serving the Lord, tending church grounds talking between passes on a John Deere, and a God who already knew where their story was going.
At the heart of Ken and Christina’s relationship is their shared love for Jesus. Their love grew first from friendship and has been marked by faith, laughter, patience, harmony, companionship, and a deep gratitude for the unexpected gift they found in one another.
And there is something especially meaningful about the date on which their next chapter will begin.
Exactly one year after their first dinner, on December 12, 2026, Ken and Christina will become husband and wife. We invite you to join us as we celebrate our marriage and the wonderful, unexpected way God brought our lives together, a beautiful gift of God's grace.
We are deeply thankful for each of you and for the love, friendship, and memories you have brought into our lives. It would mean so much to have you with us as we stand before God, surrounded by the people we love, and begin this next chapter together. ❤️
